The afternoon reality court television series features Judge Marian Milian presiding over the courtroom and hearing civil cases involving contract law.
Accompanied by Maura Koch, Gloria Flick and Sharon Vigliotti, the students sat as court observers and witnessed several different civil cases. The students were very much a part of the set as the television cameras filmed both litigants and audience as the cases were heard. After hearing the cases, Judge Milian met with the students for a photo op.
Cases on “The People’s Court” are real and the judgments are binding on the litigants. The students were familiar with most of the courtroom proceedings after studying then in class since September.
The episodes will be aired on television in the spring of 2015. Visiting courtrooms and “The People’s Court” enriches the law experience for students studying Business Law. The trip is an annual tradition.
