CORTLANDT, N.Y. – The Village of Buchanan will hold an election for two village trustee seats Tuesday.

Polls will open at 6 a.m. and close at 9 p.m. Both District 1 and 2 polling sites are located at Buchanan Village Hall, located at 236 Tate Avenue.

Incumbent Democrats Deputy Mayor Theresa Knickerbocker and Trustee Duane Jackson will be looking to retain their seats against former mayor Al Donahue, a Republican.

Knickerbocker was elected to the board in 2009. Jackson was appointed to the board by the Mayor Sean Murray in May 2012 after Jane Hitney stepped down from her trustee seat.

Donahue, 76, is a retired New York state trooper who has lived in the village since 1964. He was unseated by current Mayor Sean Murray after serving six terms as village mayor and one term as a trustee.
