In a special election for a village board seat, Democrat incumbent Maria Slippen defeated Bob Anderson of Croton United 1,303 votes to 1,033 votes.
"We believe the results demonstrate that a significant portion of the residents of the village have strong objections to both the policy decisions and the style of governance of the current administration," Roseann Schuyler, a spokeswoman for Croton United, said.
The unofficial results are according to the Westchester County Board of Elections with 100 percent reporting.
