State Police in Cortlandt are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect who allegedly attempted to pay for merchandise at a Montrose convenience story with a fake $100 bill last month.
Troopers were contacted last month by the owner of 123 Food Stop, who reported that this man pictured above entered the store and attempted to pay for his merchandise with a counterfeit bill, state police said.
The man left the store after he was advised that the bill was fake and was last seen driving south on Route 9 in a black sedan, according to police, who added the vehicle is believed to be a black Acura or Toyota sedan.
Any person having information regarding this incident or the subject's identity is asked to contact Investigator Peter Ciacci at (914) 737-7171 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
