Peekskill Teen Charged In Connection With Cortlandt Theft

CORTLANDT, Conn. -- An 18-year-old Peekskill woman was arrested after she took money from a Shoprite cash register in Cortlandt, New York State Police said.

Jamie Johnson was allegedly observed on a security camera removing money from her assigned register, then announced to staff she was quitting her job.

Johnson is charged with petty larceny, a Class-A misdemeanor, police said.

She is due to appear in the Town of Cortlandt Justice Court on Sept. 13.
