William L. Fields, 50, was detained by loss prevention at ShopRite in Cortlandt when troopers arrived on the scene, State Police said. 

Fields was issued an Appearance Ticket ordering him to appear before the Town of Cortlandt Justice Court on Nov. 8, according to State Police.
