The committee ruled that Gary Dyckman's campaign signs, that said "Elect Dyckman," was misleading since the current town clerk is Joann Dyckman.

The complaint was filed LaRoue Shatkin, the Democratic candidate for town clerk. Dyckman is currently trailing Reed Douglas in the Republican primary for town clerk 211 votes to 192 votes.

The committee said since Joann Dyckman is not a candidate, it could lead many voters to think she is running for re-election.

The purpose of the Westchester County Fair Campaign Practices Committee is to help set an acceptable standard for political discussion by offering a forum for identifying unfair campaign practices and promoting a climate in which candidates conduct honest and fair campaigns.
