BUCHANAN, N.Y. - William N. "Bill" Glassman of Buchanan died Oct. 7. He was 64.
Glassman was born March 11, 1949, in New York City, to Sam and Gloria Bienstock Glassman. He attended the University of Florida where he earned a Bachelor's Degree. He spent his life as a teacher, coach and camp director. For over 30 years he coached basketball, volleyball and softball at many of the local area high schools including Yorktown, Briarcliff, Edgemont and Scarsdale. He was a coach at the New York State Girls Basketball Coordinator for Section 1. He was the camp director for North Castle Parks and Recreation Day Camp and worked in the Special Education Department at Pleasantville and Fox Lane High Schools.
Glassman is survived by his sister, Margery Auslender (Aaron); and nephews, David and Sam Auslender.
Calling hours are Thursday, Oct. 10 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, Peekskill. Memorial Service will follow at 11 a.m. at the Funeral Home.
