Cunningham was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during WWII, and was a pipefitter for 45 years for the New York Central Railroad and Metro North at Croton Harmon, retiring in 1987.
Cunningham is survived by his wife, Elizabeth A. McGreevy Cunningham; son, Michael B. (Jill) Cunningham; daughter, Laurie (Dane) Booth; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild; brother, David Cunningham; and sisters, Jean Piucci, Edith Rudy and Mary “Betty” Tracy. He was predeceased by his son, George Cunningham III; and daughter-in-law, Lynda.
Calling hours are Friday, May 31 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the E.O. Curry Funeral Home, where Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 1, followed by interment at Hillside Cemetery, Cortlandt Manor.
