He was born July 12, 1929, in Croton-on-Hudson.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Lisa Finnerty; and grandchildren, Megan, Sean and Matthew Finnerty.
His wife, Joyce Finnerty, died in 2010.
His daughter, Susan Finnerty, died in 1978; and he was also predeceased by his brother Allan Finnerty and sisters, Eileen Ryan and Rita Wilhelm.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 41 Grand St., Croton-on-Hudson.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial of ashes will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Croton.
