Water Rescue Units To Train In Croton-On-Hudson

This weekend, the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department will be conducting a special training exercise with members of the Yorktown Heights Volunteer Fire Department’s Dive and Water Rescue Teams.

Beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, stretching through approximately 2 p.m., the rescue crews will be operating in the vicinity of Mayo’s Landing, from within the water on to the shore.

Earlier this month, the Water Rescue Unit from Yorktown conducted additional training for both boat operations and highlines, learning how to properly load the pulley and utilize track lines.

Officials stated that they “anticipate creating very little impact or interference for anyone in the area, and appreciate any cooperation as (crews) conduct this important training.
