Police: Cortlandt Man Arrested On Trespassing Charge In Putnam

CORTLANDT, N.Y. – A Cortlandt man was arrested Thursday in connection with an attempt to break into a Putnam County home two weeks ago, state police said.

On Oct. 10, state police from the Wappinger barracks responded to a Putnam County 911 call reporting an individual tried to unlawfully gain access to a home. The victim told 911 she woke up to a man attempting to gain entry into her residence.

Robert V. Cegielski, 50, of Cortlandt, was charged with second-degree criminal trespass, a misdemeanor. Cegielski was released on no bail.
