Area Mayor Involved In Foot Pursuit Of Vandals

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Poughkeepsie Mayor Rob Rolison became a central figure in the pursuit of a pair of vandals that continues Sunday.

While enjoying dinner in downtown Poughkeepsie with his wife Lori, Rolison witnessed vandals tagging graffiti across the street from the restaurant.

While enjoying dinner in downtown Poughkeepsie with his wife Lori, Rolison witnessed vandals tagging graffiti across the street from the restaurant. 

Rolison, aided by a restaurant employee, began a foot pursuit of the subjects who immediately fled the scene.

The chase lasted several blocks and subjects were last seen in the Mansion Street area.

Rolison was able to provide information to the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department who are currently in search of the subjects.

“Let the word get out that the City of Poughkeepsie won’t tolerate any level of crime or vandalism.” Rolison said. “Together we will work block by block to make our city safer, cleaner, and stronger,” Rolison continued.
