Streamed on YouTube, GFL features morning announcements delivered by student anchors, as well as news packages showcasing different aspects of the school and community.

Senior Damian Garcia -- a Yonkers resident who's an anchor and producer of the show -- interviewed Astorino. Garcia's goals include both politics and broadcast journalism, similar to Astorino's own route.

"It is always a pleasure to meet with our future leaders, and tap into what's going on in their world," Astorino said. "The Gael Force Live team is an exceptional group of young men working hard toward their goals. I was happy to share my journey and experience with them and see their show's production in action."

The discussion, which will be aired in different segments early next week, includes the county executive's path into politics, advice and notes about the broadcast world, his past experience as program director for Sirius Satellite Radio's "The Catholic Channel," and more.

Following the interview, Astorino toured GFL's production area and the Paul Verni Center for the Arts.

"The Verni Center is a focal point of Iona Prep's recently announced Centennial Campaign for Excellence, which will not only renovate the existing structure, but includes an addition that will provide more instructional space and a 435-seat auditorium," the school noted. "The campaign further underscores the vital importance of arts in education."
