On hand to accept the award was the chamber's Executive Director Deborah Milone.

“I am delighted to accept this prestigious award on behalf of the board of directors and all of our members who give so generously of their time and expertise in making our chamber so successful," Malone said. "It is especially meaningful during our centennial celebration, and it is truly a testament to our region to be honored with this statewide award."

The Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce received the award, partly based on all of the activities Milone and Office Manager Barbara Prehal managed during 2015 — the chamber's 100th anniversary year.

Of special note was the chamber's annual dinner in January, which attracted 400 guests — the largest dinner in the chamber's history.

In addition, the chamber published a commemorative photo journal that sold out, and the chamber resurrected the Hudson Valley Exposition, which hadn't been put on in more than 70 years.

“We are particularly proud to receive this recognition and award during this historic year at the chamber," said Linda Murphy, chairwoman of the board. "I am so pleased that the chamber, its staff and all of the members who give freely of their time, talents and money, were recognized for doing such amazing things for the business community. I congratulate Deb Milone and Barbara Prehal."

Milone hopes the recognition will help the chamber reach its goal of 500 members within the next six months. The chamber currently has 460 members.
