This is exactly why we need changes in our laws that govern politicians and the professional code of conduct and responsibility and accountability. We need higher standards in our to hold these corrupt politicians more accountable for there actions so that they don't just walk away with a slap on the wrist in some country club federal prison and on the tax payers dime again. A year in federal prison means he'll be out within 10 months or less. How many other crimes did he commit besides tax evasion that were either dropped or he got away with? The town and the school district both need careful monitoring of all expenditures by a committee that is not hand picked. Tax payers are being ripped off left and right year after year. Its time we had careful monitoring of all expenses and find ways to reduce spending that would in turn reduce the budget. We get no services for our tax dollars in Somers, unless of course you want to count our Library and the Somers fire dept & Police Dept as services? Our roads are completely in need of repairs and not patch work. Our town buildings are falling apart and most are not up to code. In fact, according to John Keane,(Planning Board) the town has over 250 town code violations that are still unfixed. Including stormwater runoff entering private properties. View Comment

Every Politician should be carefully monitored here in Westchester and every expenditure should be monitored very closely to avoid misuse of tax payers hard earned money. There is a good reason why Westchester County is the highest taxed in the world. The simple answer is because of CORRUPTION and misuse of power, misuse of tax payers funds, out of control spending, over-lapping of services, no bid contracts where certain politicians are getting kicvkbacks on our money. We have politicians in office way to long. We need short term limits in order to stop corruption. We need careful monitoring of where, and how are tax dollars are spent. Politicians need to be held to a much higher standard then we have in place now. We give politicians slaps on the wrist for crimes against the people who voted them into office. We need to set an example of all corrupt politicians ensread of the slap on the wrist and sentenced to some country club for 10 months. Its a big joke and a complete insult to the american people and to our so called justice system that is way out of wack. View Comment

In the town of Somers, a former topwn board member was quoted as saying that: " The Town is Run Like A Mafia". That town board member could not take it anymore because of the corruption within that town and said that: " The town Supervisor is a LIAR, and should have never been put in any position of trust". The town has tried everything to cover-up everything, including having personal ties with certain newspapers who have been doing political favors to keep the bad news out of the papers. View Comment

Instead of hiring more correction officers, why not put the prisoners who qualify to work? We need to reduce spending and alot of prisoners who are non violent could be working on our roads and in the community. Especially all first time offenders who are non-violent. When will Westchester County stand up and start doing the right thing in the name of justice and fair play? How many more innocent black men will be gunned down by Police? We need changes that protect fellow officers who come forward with information of corruption or any form of misconduct within his/her department and rewards should be offered, including complete protection from retaliation or job loss. Its time we break the blue wall of silence and allow officers to come forward without fear of being labeled a rat in his own Dept. Samething within the District Attorney's office and County Attorneys office and fire dept. We need changes in the interests of justice. View Comment
