Update from Pets Alive: Update from Pets Alive Westchester...
Pets Alive Westchester
UPDATE: We are completely out of the building. It has been locked up and condemned. At this time we are asking volunteers to stop coming to the Elmsford building; there is nothing more to do here. Thank you all for your help and support. We will be posting more about how you can help soon as we reorganize. View Comment
Here is the latest update from a very grateful bunch at Pets Alive, with info on the animals (who are all safely relocated)and their status. Please keep checking their facebook page for more updates. I do not think there is power at the shelter. so communication is very limited.

The statement that all animals are being relocated to Middletown is NOT TRUE. They will take whatever animals they can. But ALL of the animals need to be removed this weekend. Adoption fees are being waived and fosters are welcome. Their phone will not be working, but they can be reached by e-mail at email@example.com. I just left PetsAlive and every major network, as well as the local ones were there to cover the story. Hopefully these animals will all be safe within the next couple of days. View Comment
A friend was working for Mrs. Green's. After being repeatedly harassed by management, and not being paid for hours worked in a very unprofessional atmosphere, this person quit the $8.50 per hour job. This is at a business that charges $8 for a bag of apples. During training they were told that they are to physically bring customers to the item they are looking for, and that the first time they are caught pointing to an item, they would be fired. From what I understand, when the union approached the workers at the Mt. Kisco location, they were told that if they voted to join, they would lose their jobs. Doesn't seem like a great place to work. View Comment
I think that the schools are closed based upon the safety during travels to and from, of the students. I do not know if this is still the case, but years ago this decision was made by the school bus companies. View Comment
I do not understand why anybody would want to read thousands of pages about this tragedy. I don't think it should have been released, out of respect to those affected. Morbid curiosity is not a reason to deny these poor families what little peace of mind they might be starting to have. This is not about First Amendment rights, it is about respect. View Comment
Disgraceful, shame on them all for doing that. I had noticed that the Mobil station on Rt. 9 in Elmsford raised their prices to $4.99/gal. for regular unleaded during that time. To this day I will not go there for gas.
"They" are not trying to "redefine" the "traditional" meaning of marriage. Marriage has always been the union of two people who love each other and want to spend the rest of their lives together. That has not changed. View Comment
