Did Mr Wagner in compliance with full dis-closer state he works for a law firm that represents oil and pipeline interests? NO. What makes the pipeline companies that he represents different than Algonquin? You can't have it both ways Mr. Warner oh wait maybe he can after all he is a democrat. That seems to be their strong suit. ;) View Comment
But the law firm he works for represents other oil and pipe line companies? Are the other ones good and the Algonquin Pipeline is bad? What makes this pipeline different from the others? It seems Mr. Wagner is like most lawyers, what they say and what they practice are sometimes two different things. I'm tired of lawyers in Albany. They claim that they will clean up the corruption when elected and what do they do, nothing. What happened to the investigation of the Governor? What happened to the investigation of Sheldon Silver? Say no to the democrats until they clean up their act, this includes Justin Wagner!. View Comment
jlevin " The majority of home school situations are seriously creepy." Like those people that President Obama referred to? Those people that wanted to cling to their guns and religion? Yeah those nuts as you liberals call them. They are the majority of Americans in our country. They teach their children how to read and write. They teach their children math.
You refer to critical thinking skills like what is being taught in " Common Core", NO THANK YOU. Progressives like you have ruined our education system. The public education system is turning out people that can't read, write or do any kind of math. You wonder why we rank 18th in the world in education outcome? We rank even lower in the sciences. We spend more money per individual than any other country in the world and what do we get in return? Taxpayers would get a better bang for their buck with either charter schools or homeschooling. The unions are bleeding us to death and giving us nothing in return. It is all for the children. I say BS, it is all for the teachers. View Comment
I am ashamed to even say I worked on his early campaigns. I thought he was a conservative republican. Boy was I wrong. I do hope you leave new York soon and don't let the door hit you in the arse. If you move to Texas you will not find things will be easy for you with this endorsement. Texans don't like turncoats. Shame on you Greg. View Comment
Ann@savetillyfosterfarm:, You are one of those uniformed voters that I was talking about. Why should ILLEGAL ALIENS be given free education when the families of taxpayers have to pay for their own children? I have had enough of you limousine liberals giving MY hard earned tax money away to people that have broken the law. It is time to stop wallowing in the PC swamp and call a spade a spade. These actions, giving free education to illegals, is one the causation's with control of our borders. You offer free stuff and people will come.
New York ranks right up there with the most illegals in the country. I have no problem with immigration. My grand parents were immigrants. They came here legally through Ellis Island and learned to speak English.
I don't condone ILLEGALS. I don't want our government rewarding bad behavior. It seems that if someone calls it like it is then they are smearing ? Mr. Murphy is raising the red flag, please take heed. View Comment
Yeah like the Democrats have improved your life as a woman. Phony issue. The Democrats in this state have ruined it for the rest of us. Our state is ranked 50th for a businesses to come to. We are just behind California in state debt and yet the democrats continue to spend money we don't have. You wonder why people are moving OUT of new York. We have lost three seats in the house of representatives because of population shrinkage. How many people that you know said if they had the chance would leave here? If you believe those TV ads that say businesses are moving here then you will believe anything Justin Wagner says or does. View Comment
Have you checked what law firm Justin works for? When you do you will see he is a pick and chose kind of guy. I guess it is ok to represent an oil firm or gas company in another part of the state or another state. Can you say hypocrite? View Comment
I remember that night. I went up on my roof with a pair of binoculars. They are not that good at night but I did see a break in the formation on the right side. Last ultra-light dropped slightly out of formation for just a moment. Now the key factor that I knew they were ultra-lights was that the night was dead silent. I cupped both of my hands over my ears and bent my ear lobes forward. You know when you are trying to hear someone that is a little distance away. The engines may have been quiet to most but I did hear them.
I can tell you when I first saw them, I was driving north on Hyatt St, here in Yorktown. It scared the crap out of me. It was only when I went on the roof of my house did I determine what they were. If anyone remembers that these did NOT make sudden changes in direction like other " UFO's"
Mr. Gradgrind, it is not a funny thing, the low information voter. It is those very people that elected President Obama. It is the same people that year after year that don't turn out at the school budget votes and then complain that their school taxes are too high. View Comment
If the governor was so interested in our safety, the why did he push the Safe Act? This is a time when we need people that are armed. Did you see what happened in Oklahoma? Because of one brave civilian, many people were saved. Governor Cuomo's Safe Act limits the average law abiding citizen that advantage. Please in November please vote him out before he can do even more damage to our safety and our economy. View Comment
The sentence is no deterrent. The sentences should have been consecutive. This I find interesting (when Sergio, who said she was on the way to an Ossining social service agency) It wasn't AA to be sure. View Comment
Another one who is afraid to post his/her name. Just what visions do the democrats have other than increasing taxes to pay for failed programs, like Common Core. I forgot the biggest one ever " the war on poverty " spending over 16 Trillion dollars and accomplishing nothing to reduce poverty except line the pockets of those poor democratic politicians. That is the legacy of the democrats. This is what you can expect from Mr. Maloney since he votes with the president and the party. View Comment
clo711, someone that does not want to be known by his real name, You are wrong on who are the obstructionists. Harry Reid is the one who is obstructing legislation, holding over 300 bills hostage that have been passed in the peoples house. What is he afraid of? View Comment
Have you not had enough with the democrats and their failed policies? Just look at what it has got us. ISIS and the ACA just to name two. Along with a higher standard of living, more employment, just how many more democrat promises that have not come true will you believe in? Promises made and not kept. It is time for a change and this time, for the " GOOD " .
Think back, are you and our country better off than we were 6 years ago? If you think so, then continue to vote democratic for that is the path we will continue to go on. Just where does Congressman Maloney stand on the ACA/Obama care?
[US House of Representatives votes to sue Obama] . Congressman Maloney a nay vote, I guess he likes that the President is over stepping his powers as president.
Voted no on this one [H.R. 2: American Energy Solutions for Lower Costs and More American Jobs Act] Looks like he votes the PARTY line most of the time and that is what is wrong with our country right now.
Too much about the party and control and not enough concern about the country! View Comment
I don't remember ever seeing so many people changing parties back and forth, in my lifetime. They change parties more often than I change my underwear. When you take the nomination from a political party you would assume that you follow their general principals. Not so in Yorktown. The democratic party and the republican party are different and have different philosophies. The plain and simple differences are in taxes and how much the government intrudes into your life. So that when I see candidates switch parties for their own convenience, I wonder just what do they really believe in? We see a town councilmen who parades as a " conservative" but is not really. Republicans who were last year Democrats and vice versa.
This goes along with their political handouts. Notice that they never have their party affiliation in bold print. Are they afraid to state their party affiliation ? Do you really believe in your parties principles and practices? You need a core belief, a foundation. It does NOT mean you must vote the party line but at least have a base belief.
This mess has to be cleaned up. We need an odd number of councilman to get things done.
What Miriam fails to tell you when she posts this [The U.S. Supreme Court has made it entirely legal for wealthier citizens and corporations to “buy” elections with unlimited campaign contributions.] is that George Soros, the labor unions , Peter Lewis, and Steyer, Thomas & F. & Kathryn Ann " next generation" $20,453,034 contribute many more dollars than these big bad corporations. Does she fail to mention them or does she not know that they contribute so much money to the democratic party. ? She has no problem when a union backs a candidate and contributes to their campaign, does she? Why because she in fact is a Democratic operative at least follows the DNC talking points. She does not call the town council out for trying to link their future raises to the raises that are given in the union contracts.
Seems to me that she is the one with the agenda, to silence those who are not in agreement with the democrats. There are the people like Harry Reid that want to limit our first amendment rights. It seems that the supreme Court agrees with the little people like you and me still have the right to contribute to whom we want to. There are more than enough laws on the books to limit contributions to political parties. Maybe they might try enforcing the ones already on the books?
It seem that Mr. Wagner is NOT proud he is a democrat, if he was, it would be some place prominently displayed on his hand outs. The democrats can't get away with their part in our state losing people , jobs and at least three representatives in congress. It is no wonder he would try to hide the fact he and his party are the problem. This abortion issue is low on the totem pole when it comes to issues. We want JOBS and LOWER taxes. Do you remember when Hillary promised those things when she ran for senator? Cost of Living: Few View NYS as Affordable
More than three in four adults statewide — 77% — perceive New York to be an expensive place to live for the average family. Included here are a majority — 55% — who say the overall cost of living is not very affordable and 22% who report it is not affordable at all. However, 22% say it is affordable while only 1% thinks it is very affordable. Similar proportions of registered voters in New York State share these views.
So when you see those ads on television that say business are moving into New York and it is a great place to bring your business, question that. New York in NOT friendly not only to business's but to the average Joe. View Comment
