If DOMA is struck down, what stops three people from being married? If two men wanted to marry one woman and they are in love, why can't they get "married" ? How about Polygamy, why shouldn't that be allowed? How about someone marrying their pet? There will be no end of this. Think of ANY combination and it could be possible if they are in "love'. It goes back to basic nature, if God wanted men to marry men and woman to marry woman he would have made some physical changes so men could give birth.
The term is asexual. So far as I know, humans haven't been able to do that from the beginning of their existence. There must be a reason for it.
This action is opening Pandora's box. Nothing good will come out of it. View Comment
Truth, as one of his "constituents" , I do know that he stands up for what I believe. He was charged with speeding and a small quantity of marijuana. He was not charged with driving while impaired as far as I know. If the people of Massachusetts could forgive Ted Kennedy for his killing of Mary Jo Kopechne, then we certainly can forgive Assemblyman Katz for his indiscretion. It now seems that all those "liberals" that think the possession of marijuana is not a serious offense are now making it a major issue. What has changed? Oh I know , it was a republican. Killing someone does not equal possessing a small quantity of marijuana, does it?
How about all the payoffs made by Sheldon Silver to cover up bad deeds by other democrats? Didn't hear anything from "truth" about that have you? View Comment
@Now lets be honest:, They change parties like they change underwear. You never know from one day to another what they tactfully believe in.You are right when you said that "Now “Party doesn’t matter in local elections"?" You used to see in the flyers the "party affiliation" , didn't you? Can you even remember the last time you saw that? Even with a score card it is hard to keep tract of them. View Comment
And if Governor Cuomo gets his way, even more people will move out of New York State. See : New York State Loses 2 Seats in House. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703581204576033951298355540.html . That should tell you something about New Yorks "growth" . View Comment
@ doodleowner:, I just love this " Putting more money in their pockets, puts more money into the local economy which adds to the income of local businesses and adds income to the county and State in sales taxes" Where did you get your MBA from, Cuba university? Do you understand that SOMEONE has to pay for this. Do you even understand that? It is the business owner that pays it and then passes it on to the consumer. If he doesn't want to raise his prices, he than gets rid of one or two employees. It is a lose lose situation. View Comment
If you think that jobs are hard to find now, just wait till the minimum wage goes into effect. There will be LESS jobs. Companies are cutting back now and will have even a better excuse to do so. On top of that next year the "affordable heath care act" goes into full effect. View Comment
Well it was just an assumption on my part because Costco would bring money into the already overpriced school system. With that in mind, I guessed you don't need any help in paying these high school tax bills. I'm on a fixed income and I do need the help. As far as I know most of the people that I have spoken to, want Costco here in Yorktown. Maybe I have been speaking to the wrong people? View Comment
Well that goes contrary to the majority of Yorktowner's, doesn't it? You will be just like those people on the old planing boards that cost Yorktown taxpayers, like me, a ton of money because Yorktown was deemed unfriendly to business. Do the taxpayers a favor, please look to run in another town. We need business here in Yorktown, and many of us aren't as well off as you. Just a thought. View Comment
With this statement "if they do leave, they should be heavily financially penalized.", you show your true colors, comrade. What law would give New York state that authority? You wonder why people and companies are leaving our state in droves, it is thinking like yours that is causing it. Make it difficult for a company to do business and they will make the choice. Chip N Putt:, you have hit it out of the park, pun intended! Why is the county still in the amusement park business? The county has enough problems with doing the things that they are required to now. Sell the property and let someone that actually knows how to run a business continue. If it is profitable, then it will survive. Goes along with Darwin's theory.
No more tax payers dollars!!! We, the taxpayers, can just barely survive the taxes we are paying now. View Comment
The man, George Soros is a dirt bag. He is no better than Joseph Patrick "Joe" Kennedy, Sr. and the way he obtained his wealth. At least Mr. Kennedy was not out to destroy our country. Just ask the English people what they think of Mr. Soros. He almost bankrupted them with his money manipulation. View Comment
