leonard.martello:The endorsement by both the the Journal News and The New York Times should tell you some thing. Didn't they back Obama also? Sean Patrick Maloney is just one more of the yes men for the Obama administration and its policies. Just where does he stand on the ACA?
The " crazies" as you call them are the ones that want lower taxes and the repeal of the ACA. Call them crazy but maybe they are right and the tax and spend democrats are wrong. The estimated population of the United States is 319,324,947
so each citizen's share of this debt is $56,114.00. That is for every man, women and child. Just how o long can our county survive with this debt. The very sad part is that it is increasing each and every day. It is time for a change and not like the one we got with the election of President Obama. http://www.usdebtclock.org/
Change starts with electing people that want to lower taxes and make our country really energy independent. Sean Patrick Maloney will only continue to rubber stamp the Obama policies if he is re-elected. View Comment
The article fails to mention the speed of the motorcycle. He was doing over 100 MPH according to my source. Also NOT mentioned was the fact that he was a Dominican, a convicted felon, had a rap sheet a mile long and was driving with a suspended license.
You can also add this to the mix, At this point, not sure if the SP were in pursuit but a Trooper said he blew by him during a traffic stop.
This is what you get when you take money from the federal Government. There are always strings attached. The program is a plan from the progressive left muck like the Progressive Education System of the late 50's. A failure to a whole generation of our youth. Touchy , feely stuff with no substance. Bring back the basics, the three R's. View Comment
He has been a terrific congressman? I think you mean horrific don't you? He is marching in lock step with the President, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. In six years the democratic party has done nothing to improve our economy. Talking about the EPA, just look at what they have done to the coal industry. Coal which supplies almost 47% of our electricity is being decimated by onerous regulations. The results are increased electricity rates. The President said he expects this to happen as a result of his policies on coal and even welcomes it in order to push his wind and solar power schemes.I use the word schemes because of Solindra and other failures similar to it.
We do not need more people with like thinking in congress. Look at Congressman Maloneys voting record. 95% support of the Presidents failed policies. Have those policies made things better? Over 65% of the people polled say no. View Comment
The question is did congresswomen Lowey actually " rebuilding our infrastructure, creating jobs, lowering taxes, and ensuring the Hudson Valley continues". She and Hillary promised these things for years. Do you see things getting better in New York State? Promises made and NOT kept!! More of the same if these two get elected, promises!
She walks in lock step with him and his administration. I was please that " "I am pleased that this coalition was formed," . A coalition of who, do do what?
"I expect that those countries in the region must be obligated to put their troops on the ground.", really? Name some of the coalition that is doing just that? This is probably the best statement "Lowey said American troops should not be on the ground fighting in the Middle East" Where was her objection when her President sent more troops into Afghanistan and said it was the war we should be fighting instead of Iraq ? She is a phony.
On election day I will be voting for a real American that will look out for OUR country, Chis Day. View Comment
George, I would suggest if t you don't like the way our constitution was written you should move to maybe Iraq or Iran for a while and see what it is like living without freedom. If you don't want to have the means to defend yourself and your family then so be it. Please don't try to take my right to do so. Gun control to many in the movement is to take away that right. They want no one to have a gun but the police or the military. Sounds like 1934 in Germany to me. View Comment
"common sense gun safety laws like New York’s newly-strengthened background check system and ban on military-style assault weapons"? When was the last time an " assault" weapon was used in a crime in New York state? By the way, just what is an assault weapon? Is it a scary looking rifle? Gun violence is a straw dog for taking away guns from the law biding citizen. Gun violence has gone down in America while gun possession by law biding citizens has sky rocketed. FBI stats prove that out.
The common sense law they refer to is NOT common sense and takes the guns out of the hands of lawful citizens. It does not do anything to keep the guns from criminals. They don't buy their guns legally. Mr Wagner like his pal Chuck Schumer tl ell us all the time they don't want to take our guns away. Don't believe them. That is their long term intent. Just when the world is getting more dangerous, they want to disarm us. Look at what is happening in our own country. People being beheaded. How will you defend yourself from a terrorists that wants to kill you because you don't want to convert? Sounds far fetched right? Stop looking at ET the other entertainment shows, and see the real world. View Comment
The war was won in Iraq. The country was in control of the elected officials there. The President did NOT listen to the people that had won that war, the military. He was in too much of a hurry to fight the war he said we should have been fighting. The a war in Afghanistan so without listening to his military he pulls the troops out knowing full well they were still needed there as a deterrent. It was a political decision as are most of his decisions. Never listens to the people he should but listens to Valerie Jarrett. We are in the mess we are in NOT because of GWB but because of the political decisions of Barrack Obama. It is about time he takes responsibility for HIS actions. View Comment
Ann, check your facts on gun violence by law biding citizens. http://www.cato.org/publications/commentary/gun-control-myths-realities
From your post I gather you are one of those bleeding heart liberals that think that tax payers should foot the bill for open spaces. It seems that people that are well off expect others who may not be that well off to fund farms that don't make a profit much like the Hilltop Hanover Farm in Yorktown. Just what is the county doing running a farm? Why is it being funded when there are two private farms fighting for their existence in Yorktown? View Comment
Mr Falk says he is for " common sense" gun legislation. Well it seems that he is the only democrat that is. Just look at what his party passed in the middle of the night with no discussion. I would like to know if he supports the "Safe Act" ? Just what are his views on what is " sensible gun laws ". As usual politicians using buzz words that mean very little. It is had enough now for a law biding citizen to get a weapon now. Does anyone really think that criminals abide by the gun laws? The legislators that wrote and passed the " safe act " haven't a clue about firearms. They call some guns assault rifles because they look menacing. The same gun with out a pistol grip is ok. This law much like the federal one that was passed did absolutely nothing in reducing gun violence. Enforce the laws now on the books. Punish not the law biding citizen but the criminal. You use a loaded weapon in the commission of a crime you get a mandatory sentence, lets make that 20 years. That will NOT be plea bargained down. It will be served in Addition to what sentence was imposed for the crime. No concurrent sentencing, that defeats the purpose of the law. The democrats have been opposed to this type of law.
I would like to know how the two candidates fell abut this suggestion. By the way this is not a new idea. View Comment
Mr. Wagner lips say no but his firm says yes. Of course you can he old him responsible for who he works for and what they do. He is an outright hypocrite telling us he is against something that his company makes millions from.
As far as the food at Murphy's, I didn't know he was running for the position of food inspector. I have eaten there many times with no ill effects. If you don't think the food is not good, you still have that choice of not eating there. Like a typical LIBERAL you try to change the subject. I see you are up to date in your reading and understanding of " rules for radicals, right?
Chiropractors can and do advise their patients about various ways to stay healthy and food and vitamins are some of those suggestions.
Did Mr Wagner in compliance with full dis-closer state he works for a law firm that represents oil and pipeline interests? NO. What makes the pipeline companies that he represents different than Algonquin? You can't have it both ways Mr. Warner oh wait maybe he can after all he is a democrat. That seems to be their strong suit. ;) View Comment
