A 72% of New Yorkers gave her a positive rating as a senator. How about all those people upstate that she promised she would turn around their economic plight? ZERO, she in stead started her campaign for President forgetting about her promises. She is out for one thing and one thing only, herself!!!
“I think she got good experience being the first lady and secretary of state. I think she can handle herself in times of crisis and when challenged.” A typical statement of an uniformed person. Just what has she done as Secretary of State to warrant such praise? Handle herself in times of crisis, like Benghazi? View Comment
[Reached for comment on Monday regarding the latest incident, Greenstein reiterated his call for a bridge.] Is he kidding. Just think about what it would take to build a bridge. The height of the bridge and then what about the approaches? What about the cost? If you do it here, why not all along the railroad right of way, at every crossing? People throw out these idea's with no concept of reality. View Comment
This is one of the reasons our government does not work. People don't care!!! Does the government have to come to each and every persons house and take them by the hand to go to the polls and vote? No matter what is posted or written there will be apathetic people. It is not that it was not publicized it is because people are too busy doing other things. They could care less until the crap hits the fan and it effects THEIR pocket books. How many times have you heard that school taxes are too high? If you ask them if the voted on the school budget 80% of them will say they didn't get a chance to to that.
If you want to make things better in government get involved! The first step is to be informed. Take a close look at the candidates. Ask questions of them. What do they stand for? When you have that information, then go to the polls and vote. Let your voice be heard!!!! View Comment
[“While the precise cause of the Metro-North crash in Valhalla is still under investigation, it’s crystal clear that the existence of the rail grade crossing played at least some role in the fatal, tragic accident] He is simply brilliant. Of course the RR crossing played some part in the tragedy. If it wasn't there then there would have been no accident. Chuck always has to have his face in front of a camera.
The tragedy could have been averted if the woman had not moved her vehicle forward onto the tracks of the approaching train. The lights were flashing. What was she thinking? The blame for this tragedy is on her and her decision. This shows again that some people should not be in back of the steering wheel. I defy someone to show me one of these incidents that the driver was not to blame. It seems from the records incidents like this have gone down all over the country except in New York. Now that leaves me only two conclusions. Either the crossings are not working properly or the drivers are in some sort of hurry and disregard the warnings. In this case the warning light came on in time and the gates lowered as they should have. Conclusion, driver error.
As to the third rail. Has anyone thought that the vehicle itself caused the third rail to come apart? The train certainly didn't tear it apart. View Comment
This really annoys me. [Also, Brody had only been driving the 2011 Mercedes since December and may not have been completely familiar with it, officials said.] The next thing, the Mercedes SUV will be blamed for the tragedy. I can see this going to court and not only will her estate be sued but also the Mercedes Benz company.
There are people driving on the road today that don't belong there. Stop signs, yield signs, stop lights and RR crossing lights and barriers must be observed and obeyed. Too many distractions for today's drivers and with a driving test that is a laugh, to say the least.
Bill, she drove forward onto the tracks. What is so hard to understand? This I find interesting [ “conduct a thorough investigation, to determine the facts surrounding them and determine probable cause.” ] Stupidity, plain and simple. Some people should not be driving motor vehicles. The next thing they will be blaming the Mercedes for the tragedy. View Comment
Hats off to the Yorktown Highway department. They seem to be carrying out the tradition of the past highway supervisor. Thank you Mr. Dave Paganelli and your fine crew for all that you do. View Comment
I wonder if these same democrats will be saying anything negative about the invite of Benjamin Netanyahu to speak to a joint session of congress like their President did? It seems that some of them have forgotten the Holocaust with some of the things they do any say. Gun control for one. View Comment
