VERPLANCK, N.Y. - Vincent A. Morabito of Verplanck died April 9. He was 78.

Morabito was born in Verplanck April 5, 1934, to Paul and Concetta Morabito. He served in the U.S. Army in 1955 until he was discharged in 1962. He worked at the VA hospital in Montrose. He was a life member of the Verplanck Fire Department and Our Lady Mt. Carmel Society.

Cortlandt, NY -- Fifty town roads were closed due to downed trees and wires and 4,000 homes in Cortlandt were still without power Tuesday following Hurricane Sandy.
