Girardi's previous deal was set to expire on Oct. 31 and he was rumored to be a candidate for the vacant position with the Chicago Cubs. The Yankees did not disclose the terms of Girardi's new contract, but a source told ESPN New York that it will be worth $16 million plus bonuses and incentives.
Girardi will address the media on a conference call at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, ESPN New York said.
