Former New York Mets and Cincinnati Reds slugger George Foster had originally been confirmed for the event, as reported by The Daily Voice on Oct. 1. Dent is now slated to take his place.

Dent will be swinging alongside foursomes on the course and posing for photos and signing autographs at the reception and dinner, plus taking questions.

Proceeds of the event support the Harrison Apar Field of Dreams Foundation, which benefits recreation and education in our communities.

Harrison Apar died from complications from a rare form of dwarfism in 2003. Since then, his parents Bruce and Elyse have worked to raise funds for Yorktown organizations such as the Yorktown Athletic Club and the Yorktown Teen Center.

Apar received a Citizen of the Year award from the Leo Club youth chapter of the Yorktown Lions Club. The foundation was also named the Yorktown Chamber Organization of the Year in 2010.
