They're Off! 138th Kentucky Derby Runs Saturday

“The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports” will stir up horse racing fans once again with the 138th running of the Kentucky Derby on Saturday at Churchill Downs.

Bodemeister and Union Rags are, as of Tuesday morning, the co-favorites to win the first race in the Triple Crown at 9-2 odds, followed closely by Gemologist at 7-1 and Dullahan at 8-1. The longest shot is Optimizer at 100-1. Trainer Larry Jones pulled Mark Valeski from the Derby on Tuesday morning, according to ESPN, which opened up a spot for Optimizer.

Calvin Borel, perhaps the most famous jockey in horse racing, will ride Take Charge Indy, listed at 16-1.

Twenty horses are scheduled to run.
