PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. The Pace University football team received the best turnout in the four-year history of the annual DJ Henry Memorial Youth Football Clinic on Sunday.
More than 120 young football players from Pleasantville, White Plains, Ossining, Tarrytown, Greenburgh, Cortlandt and other surrounding towns descended on Pace Field to participate in drills with the Setters. The children also met the coaching staff, including former NFL player John Tice.
Each child received season tickets for Paces 2012 season, a schedule magnet and Pace Goes Pink sweatbands.
This was the best turnout weve ever had for the youth clinic and Im very pleased that the number of participants has continued to grow each year, said Pace head coach Chris Dapolito. Connecting with our community is very important to Pace Football because we need the support of the community in order to be successful.
Pace opens its season at 7 p.m. Friday at Bentley University in Waltham, Mass.
