CORTLANDT, N.Y. - The Panthers of Walter Panas High picked up an emotional overtime win over John Jay Wednesday in Cross River, and the team is hoping the victory jumpstarts what has been an up and down season so far.

Both teams have been scrambling to find wins, and play seemed evenly matched on the field, with the game staying scoreless through 90 minutes of regulation and the first 10-minute overtime.

But the Panthers drew first blood just over a minute into the second OT, with Kristian Prenkaj taking a pass from Joe O'Connor and depositing it in the back on the net, sending the team into its victory celebration.

Panas improved to 4-4-1 with the win. John Jay fell to 1-7-1.

Check out the video to see Daily Voice talk to Panthers second-year coach Jamie Stroffolino, Prenkaj and O'Connor, and captains Chris Sheehan, Rob Rohan and Mike Cavigliano about the game and the team's season so far.
