Lakeland Field Hockey Team Advances To State Final

SHRUB OAK, N.Y. -- The Lakeland High School field hockey team is a win away from a fifth straight state title.

Behind Steph Scala's two goals, the unbeaten Section 1 Class B champion Hornets defeated Section 4 champ Vestal 4-1 in the Class B state semifinals on Saturday at Cicero-North Syracuse High School.

Lakeland will play Brighton High School of Rochester on Sunday in the state title game.
