Two games getting attention, of course, are the renewals of the Rye-Harrison and Ossining-Sleepy Hollow series on Saturday, Oct. 19.

Here's a look at some others games of interest, with the focus of this report on Northern Westchester.

John Jay (5-1) will host Fox Lane (2-4) as the teams continue their longtime series. The lights go on for Fox Lane and John Jay Friday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. in Cross River.

Fox Lane will have its hands full with John Jay quarterback Ryan Lee, who is coming off a big Week 6 performance in which he rushed for three touchdowns and passed for another in a 33-21 win over Horace Greeley (3-3).

“We are looking forward to playing an outstanding opponent,” Fox Lane coach Steven Quinn said. “They (John Jay) are always athletic and well coached and this year is no different. We've worked hard this week and hopefully that will show on Friday.”

While Fox Lane is playing for pride, John Jay has already clinched a playoff berth. Depending on what happens between Riverside and Saunders on Saturday afternoon, it will either be a No. 3 or No. 4 seed in its league in the Class A playoffs. If Riverside wins, John Jay would be the fourth seed. If Saunders wins, John Jay will move into the three seed.

Other games to watch:

  • Our Lady of Lourdes (5-1) will host Pleasantville (5-1) to determine their Class B playoff seeding. Pleasantville can drop to as low as a three seed if they lose and Briarcliff wins. Lourdes can only go as low as a two seed. Kickoff is Friday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. in Poughkeepsie.
  • Edgemont (2-4) visits Briarcliff/Hamilton (1-5) in a rivalry game that will paint the playoff picture in Class B. In addition to helping decide the seeding between Lourdes and Pleasantville, this game will decide the seeding among Putnam Valley (4-2), Nanuet (4-2) and Ardsley (4-2). Ardsley can only get in with a win against winless Valhalla (0-6) coupled with an Edgemont victory. Kickoff is 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19.
  • Brewster (3-3) travels to Somers (5-1) in a matchup that will hash out Class A’s League 2 playoff seeding. With a win, playoff-bound Somers can leap frog the loser of Ossining-Sleepy Hollow and become a three seed. Kickoff is Friday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. in Somers.
  • Poughkeepsie (1-5) visits playoff-bound Yorktown (4-2) in a matchup that will decide Yorktown’s seeding. Kickoff is Friday at 7 p.m. at YHS's Charlie Murphy Field.
