The Tampa Bay Buccaneers traded up to select Marpet, a graduate of Hastings High School and a star center on the football team at Division III Hobart College in upstate New York.

Tampa Bay had pick 65, the first pick of the third round, however, the team traded up four spots to get the second round pick from Indianapolis.

Marpet is the first player ever to be drafted from Hobart.

Despite his combination of size (he's 6-foot-4, 307 pounds) and speed (he can run the 40-yard-dash in under five seconds) and his impressive stats, most sports fans had not heard of Marpet until Buffalo Bills running back Fred Jackson, himself a former Division III standout, stepped in and helped get the word out about Marpet.

The Colts get pick No. 65 (third round) and 109 (fourt round). Tampa gets 61 (second round) and 128 (fourth round).

Another Westchester resident, Pelham's Sean Donnelly of Tulane University, could also be drafted. He is a 6-foot-8, 297-pound offensive tackle.
