Thom started a stellar December by setting the school record for assists Dec. 11 in a 60-55 win against Martin Luther King School. He only needed two assists but dished out four to break the previous mark of 289 set by Dan Moore in 1990.
The senior guard then put on a show in the Slam Dunk Tournament at the Westchester County Center. He scored 33 points in a challenge game Dec. 28 against North Salem.
Thom scored the Tigers’ last five points and broke a 56-56 tie in the final minute to lead Croton to a 61-56 win. He earned MVP honors for the game.
