Yorktown Schools Undergo Construction, Renovations

YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- The Yorktown School District has been undergoing a facelift while students are out for the summer.

The district has had numerous building upgrades and improvements underway throughout the school district. Crews are completing projects in all the school buildings. 

Yorktown High School is getting a new entrance, the entrance and kitchen at Mildred E. Strange Middle School is being renovated, a computer lab is being repurposed for a reading room at Crompond School, the library is being renovated at Mohansic Elementary and boilers were replaced at Brookside.

Throughout the district, classrooms, offices and cafeterias are getting fresh coats of paint and upgrades are being made to air-conditioning systems. The district's computer systems are also being upgraded to improve security and enhance digital services. 

The work will be finished by September 1 when students return to school, but in the meantime some parking areas and access roads are closed to the public.
