The money was raised at Yorktown's homecoming game on Oct. 2, designated a "pink" game for breast cancer awareness.
Team captains Joe Costella, Nick Santavicca and Joey Blume helped deliver the check to the hospital.
“We all know people affected by cancer, so we were glad to do our part,” said Santavicca.
“This is the first donation from a high school, and we will put it to a good use,” said the hospital's director of oncology, Anne Campbell-Maxwell, noting that the money will go toward three new specialty chairs for the 18-bed infusion center.
