CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- Amanda McArthur Gawron, a third-grade teacher at Van Cortlandtville Elementary School, received an award Tuesday morning as 2016 Technology Teacher of the Year this morning by the Lower Hudson Regional Information Center (LHRIC).
Gawron is a graduate of Lakeland schools having attended George Washington Elementary School, Copper Beech Middle School, and Lakeland High School. She was joined by family and colleagues at the ceremony.
The LHRIC Pioneer Awards are presented every year to a school district, teacher, and director of technology, from the Westchester, Rockland, and Putnam county region. The awards are in recognition for innovative uses of technology that change teaching and learning.
