MONTROSE, N.Y. – Hendrick Hudson school district officials are saying there will be "consequences" for the perpetrators of a high school prank, in which "2012" was spray painted in pink at nearly the pinnacle of the high school building.

The first "2" in "2012" was spray painted backward. School officials say they don’t have any suspects but are reviewing security video.

"We're looking into it, and there will be consequences for the students involved," said district spokesperson Rick McCormack. "We're treating it as a prank."

He said no police report and the district would handle the matter internally. As of noon Thursday, he could not say what the consequences might be for students involved.

McCormack said the school probably will paint over the graffiti on Thursday.

Again all that has to be done is for the students and their parents to pay for the cost of the prank once identified and I'm sure they will be. What do you want to have happen, they be arrested and have a permanent mark on their records for the rest of their lives for what was a stupid prank.

Mac376:

Your absolutely right, we don't want our kids arrested and we don't want them to have this on their pemanent record for the rest of their lives. We also don't our kids on the roof of the school pulling silly traditional pranks because they may fall off and be killed. What ever best stops the possibility of the worst thing happening is what I want. Or we could do it your way!

fedupinny:

This is years of tradition of high school pranks. What harm was done..the ONLY recourse should be to make those students paint over it.

Mac376:

That is a twentieth century approach in what is today a very complicated structure, this "prank" will end up costing the taxpayer far more than those that pulled it

Mac376:

If the law was broken the school has a responsibility to the district taxpayers to hold those accountable. No one should be above the law.
