New Rochelle Interim Assistant Principal Begins

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Inas Morsi-Hogans is the new interim assistant principal at Trinity Elementary School. She is replacing Charles Plaven, who served the temporary role for Nadine Pacheco until Dec. 23 after she resigned.

Morsi–Hogans said she has always wanted to work as an educator in the New Rochelle community. “It excites me,” Morsi-Hogans said. “The diversity is its asset.”

Although the former Ridgeway Elementary School assistant principal in White Plains is scheduled to serve in the position until June 30, Morsi-Hogans has higher aspirations in making an impact at one of two elementary schools on the south side of town.

“I do look forward to the Trinity School community becoming my extended family,” she said.

Morsi-Hogans officially started Tuesday, later receiving approval from the City of New Rochelle School District during its meeting.

“I’ve been graciously received by Mr. Briceno, the faculty and staff, and parents – and most importantly the students because that’s who I’ll be coming to work for every day,” she said Wednesday.

Morsi-Hogans and husband, Ural, also a first grade teacher at Jefferson, have four children: Summer, 16, Shams, 12, Dean, 5, and Amir, 3.  She started her career as a teacher in New York City for three years followed by a 12-year term in Greenburgh, and a year-and-a-half stint at Ridgeway Elementary.

The educator was formally offered the position after a two to three week process from when she saw the online job listing in November.
