The all-night event will bring together students, family members, friends, and other involved community members to raise awareness of cancer.
Three of more people can form a team, and each member raises at least $100 to benefit Happiness is Camping and Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital.
The event will memorialize those who have died due to cancer, honor those who have successfully fought or are currently battling cancer, and provide educational information about different types of cancer.
Each team decorates their own “campground” in accordance with their chosen theme.
Each “camper” visits other sites set up at Hen Hud, and can purchase items or play games as they wish.
Cancer survivors from the community will briefly march in a parade.
A luminaria ceremony will be held at 10 p.m. Saturday. Participants will place candles in paper bags to remember people who have struggled with cancer.
