This year’s honorees are Denise Kness, a Lakeland Board of Education trustee and Karen Gagliardi, principal of Thomas Jefferson Elementary School.
This event will include dinner, dancing and a silent auction. It’s held to raise money for grants that support educational programs in the arts and science for the benefit of students and teachers in the district.
“The LEF grants have enabled students and staff to benefit from creative projects in the arts, worthwhile endeavors in science and expanded learning experiences beyond the classroom walls,” said Gagliardi. “There is nothing more rewarding than observing students explore and learn through these grants. After all, for me, as an educator, it's all about the kids.”
This year, the foundation aims to surpass its previous collection of $40,000 in donations.
“The Lakeland Education Foundation has been working hard for the past 21 years to enhance the educational experience for all Lakeland students,” said Kness.
