These voice and instrumental musicians received this honor based on the high scores they received in the N.Y. State School Music Association solo competition last April.

Students participate in various vocal and instrumental ensembles, directed by renowned conductors at a concert on Thursday, Nov. 6, at Purchase College.

“This is a big honor and we are proud to have so many students going from Hendrick Hudson High School,” said choir director Erica Denler.

Denler’s Area All-State Honor Choir students include Roxy Arecco, Greg Carey, Maddie Cohen, Emily Fareed, Emily Hayes, Katie Johnson, Ryan Loguidice, Tom Maloney, Michaela McGovern, Travis Ramirez, Jisun Reiner, Jake Rose, Lexi Steinman, Maddie Tufanio, Will Villa, and Nicole Zilker.

Instrumental music teachers Ben Acrish and Joe Goehle are each sending students, as well.

“Hideo Schwartz and Jonathan Chung (violin) will play in the Symphonic Orchestra, and Kennan Ewing (cello) will play in the String Orchestra,” said Mr. Goehle.

Josh Alter (tuba) will play in the band, Cassandra Cavalieri (bassoon) and Ellen Gruber (oboe) will play in the Symphonic Orchestra.
