“One of our goals this year is to encourage parents from all three schools to attend all three math nights, since each will feature different topics,” said Furnace Woods Elementary School Principal Cynthia Kramer in a press release.
Math Nights allow district educators and parents to discuss new math strategies that have evolved from the Common Core learning standards, Kramer said.
“Math night is a time for teachers and families to celebrate elementary mathematics in today’s classroom,” said Belin Masterson, math facilitator for Hendrick Hudson, in a press release. “Best practices emphasizing the curriculum and helpful suggestions to assist your child at home will be the focus.”
The Hendrick Hudson School District Elementary Math Night will be from 7-8:30 p.m. at Furnace Woods Elementary School, 239 Watch Hill Road, Cortlandt.
Parents who are planning to attend are asked to RSVP by emailing Principal Cynthia Kramer the number of attendees and grade level(s) of their child(ren).
