Working with a group of students in a catch-and-pass game, Bernard had everyone mesmerized by his ball handling and dexterity. He also promised he and his teammates would stay after the game to autograph the program of every student who attended.
For the upcoming fundraiser, the Wizards will face off against a team of Hendrick Hudson teachers, administrators, other staff, community members, alumni and other players from Harlem. Game time will be at 7 p.m. and the doors open at 6:30 p.m..
The game will benefit the Hendrick Hudson Community Educational Foundation Inc., a community-based nonprofit organization that grants money to support educational activities that benefit all citizens of the Hendrick Hudson School District. Since 1995, the foundation has awarded more than $250,000 in grants and scholarship to the community.
