The students from the Lycée Jean Dautet school exchanged letters with Croton-Harmon School District students before their visit.

“One of the highlights for the visitors is coming to Carrie E. Tompkins Elementary School,” Linda Reich, a teacher at the Tompkins school, said in a press release.

“The students come with French storybooks to read to our students.”

Tompkins students also led the French visitors on tours of the school.

At Croton-Harmon High School, the 28 exchange students interacted with the school’s French language classes.

Students from both countries worked together on several projects, including a discussion of French and American English slang in social situations.

Some Croton-Harmon students will visit the Lycée Jean Dautet school in France during the 2015-16 academic year.
