CROTON-HARMON, N.Y. — The Croton-Harmon School District announced the completion of a year-long renovation of its transportation facilities.
The aim of the work was to give the staff and vehicles a safer and cleaner environment.
“We went from an old building that was really beat up to a nice, clean facility that I am thankful for every day,” said Transportation Supervisor Rochelle O’Mara. “We have cleaner air, a space to store equipment, adequate bathrooms and places for people to eat.”
Renovation targets included a narrow staircase, rotting floors and garage bays.
Extra lighting was also added to the outdoor yard, with an eye towards increasing safety.
“The most important thing I would like to say to our public is thank you,” added O’Mara. “We are very appreciative of the community and the investment they made in us.”
A video tour of the new facility with Schools Superintendent Edward Fuhrman is available at the district website, www.croton-harmonschools.org .
