The 105 students will move on in the fall as fifth-graders to Pierre Van Cortlandt Middle School.
“I have enjoyed watching you grow,” Carrie E. Tompkins Elementary School principal Kelly Maloney said in her address. “You are ready to go and have been well-prepared.”
Pierre Van Cortlandt Middle School principal Barbara Ulm attended the ceremony, greeting each student when they walked off stage with their certificates.
Student government representatives Emma Windrum and Justin Craig also spoke before their fellow students sang a song written for the ceremony, “Goodbye CET.”
Superintendent of Schools Edward Fuhrman praised the fourth-grade class in his address.
“This is a very caring group of children,” Fuhrman. “They care about each other and they care about the school.”
