Members of Students Against Destructive Decisions gathered after classes on Wednesday to visit the patients and sing holiday songs in what has become an annual tradition.
“We go to each floor and serenade the residents with holiday songs,” said Karen Profita, a social worker at Yorktown High School who advises the club. “This is a healthy, giving after-school activity for the students.”
The SADD group has been involved in many projects throughout the year, including Red Ribbon Week, which encourages students of all ages to make good decisions and become role models for other young people.
