Dine-A-Round, which will be Jan. 26, is a night of progressive dining, where each successive course is eaten at the home of a different host.

Event co-chair Maria Slippen said besides participants "coming together to share meals and conversation," many find it interesting to see the varied residences around Croton.

"One of the diners said to me last night … 'I just love to see inside other people's houses because there is such diverse architecture in Croton - to see how other people decorate,'" Slippen said.

Because seating is random, Slippen said, Dine-A-Round also is a great way to meet fellow Croton residents.

"It's a great way to find out what's happening in other parts of the school district or through other people's eyes," she said.

Patricipants can choose between two or three courses, referred to as "casual" or "formal" or just attend the after-party at the Croton Yacht Club. Some notable hosts include Mayor Leo Wiegman and Trustee Casey Raskob.

The foundation started in 2000 and since has raised more than $600,000, which benefits the three schools of the Croton-Harmon School District. It offers two grant cycles per year, for which faculty and staff submit proposals.

For example, the group provided money last fall for between 40-50 students to attend the American Mathematics Competition. The high school competition is the qualifier for the International Mathematics Olympiad.

Dine-A-Round is 6:30-11:30 p.m. Jan. 26. Tickets can be purchased on CHEF's website.
