The incident occurred at around 2:17 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, Nassau County police reported.

A woman was driving westbound with a passenger on Zeckendorf Boulevard near Ring Road when she was cut off by a driver, prompting her to lay on her horn.

Though he was not the one being honked at, police say that 27-year-old Waqar Ahmed began to act aggressively in his white Ford F-150, including repeatedly cutting off the victim until she had to stop her car at an angle, fearing she’d be run off the road.

While they were stopped, Ahmed pointed what the victims believed to be a weapon at them; in fear, they called 911.

Ahmed was arrested a short time later without incident. He is charged with:

  • Second-degree menacing
  • Circumventing an interlocking device
  • Second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation

He was released on an appearance desk ticket, police said.
