Mamaroneck Avenue will be resurfaced from Waller Avenue to Bloomingdale Road beginning on Monday, Aug. 7 as crews begin preparation work for the milling, paving, curb work, casting replacement and minor sidewalk upgrades in White Plains.
Following the prep work, the roadway will be milled - removing the existing damaged road surface - and a new final top layer of asphalt will be placed. The work is expected to last upwards of four weeks.
Each day, milling and paving is expected to last between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The street will be open to vehicles, but delays and detours can be expected. Officials said that there will be traffic personnel in place to direct motorists, and signage will be put in place. Access for local residents, businesses owners and emergency vehicles will still be permitted, but there will be temporary suspensions of street parking.
