Earthplace To Host National Trails Day Event In Westport

WESTPORT, Conn. -- A 1-mile nature walk at Earthplace in Westport on Saturday will be just one of 259 events in 152 Connecticut towns to celebrate National Trails Day.

Connecticut is host of the largest National Trails Day celebration in the nation, with events on June 1 and 2.

The Westport event will be from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday on the Swamp Loop Trail at Earthplace.

The nature walk is described as a leisurely 1-mile trail walk to discover different habitats, including a pond, stream, swamp and forest. Participants will explore animal signs and different plants along the way.

Meet at the front lobby of the Earthplace building at 10 Woodside Lane. The event is sponsored by Earthplace The Nature Discovery Center. It will be held rain or shine, and preregistration is not necessary.
