STAMFORD, Conn. — Michael J. Halama, of Stamford, died Thursday, March 7. He was 91.
Halama was born June 14, 1921, in Thomaston, Conn., to Michael J. and Elizabeth Lalinski Halama, Sr. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II with the elite “Carpetbagger” unit, which was under the direction of the OSS, which is now the CIA. He was the owner of Halama Plumbing and Irrigation Company.
Halama is survived by his daughters Nancy J. Cingari (Chip) and Carol A. Fedele (Daniel J., Sr.) all of Stamford; two sisters, Emily Cozens of Massachusetts, and Ann DiCerbo (Joseph) of Branford and a brother, Frank Halama of Stamford; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Jean Wisniewski Halama.
Calling hours are Monday, March 11, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, in Stamford. A funeral procession will depart Tuesday, March 12, at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Leo’s Parish, 24 Roxbury Road, Stamford. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rockrimmon Road.
