• Evan Lefloch, 28, of Norwalk was charged with driving under the influence and failure to turn off high beams on July 12. Lefloch passed a patrol car at a high speed with his high beams on while traveling east on the Post Road near Thornville Road. The arresting officer noted LeFloch’s “glassy, bloodshot eyes” and the odor of alcohol on his breath. After failing a field sobriety test, he was released on $1,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court July 22.

• A 1996 Ford Bronco was vandalized while parked in the Noroton Heights Train Station parking lot July 14. The owner left the car in the lot at 6:15 a.m., and when he returned at 7:35 p.m. he noticed key scratches over the entire length of the driver’s side door. Police are still investigating, but do not believe it was a targeted act.

J• ames O’Connor, 44, of East Hartford was charged with threatening and disorderly conduct. He had been staying with a female Chestnut Street resident since July 11. The 37-year-old woman told police that O’Connor, whom she had known for less than two weeks, was heavily intoxicated and threatened her with physical harm when she told him to stop drinking. He was released on $250 bond and is scheduled to appear in court July 22.

• Zachary A. Vento, 21, of Norwalk was charged July 16 with possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and fireworks. Police stopped Vento after witnessing him make a right turn from the left lane into a gas station parking lot near Richmond Street. The arresting officer reported both Vento and his passenger appeared nervous. When asked why, both told the officer they had been arrested for drug charges previously. Vento admitted that he had a cigar filled with marijuana in the car. The officer found three cigars and a bag filled with a small amount of marijuana in the center console and under the seats of the vehicle. Police released Vento on $250 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court July 26. The passenger was not charged.
