The auction of the eight-bedroom, 12-bathroom, 13,800 square-foot historic Tudor estate in one of Westchester County’s most exclusive enclaves will be held inside the home at 28 Garden Road at 5 p.m.

Bidding is expected to begin well-below the cost $6.5 million cost of the three-year redesign and expansion of the home due to the redesign company leaving the home building business.

The estate recently featured on “Talk to Tara,” on News 12, sits on a 1.5-acre property with bluestone terraces and garnishments.  One of the top draws of the home is its cathedral entryway made of beams taken from a War of 1812 frigate ship.

A refundable pre-bid deposit of $100,000 is required to participate in the bidding process at auction.

“I have never seen a property of this elegance and value at auction in Westchester County -- period,” said Max J. Kozower, president of Maxwell Jacobs, the real estate broker selling the home. “Estates of this nature almost always wait for their buyer, but the developer of this gem is willing to expedite its sale at auction even if that means selling well below cost."

Information on the bidding process is available by calling Kozower at 212-319-3000 ext. 8, or by email at mkozower@maxwelljacobs.com
